Sinhala and Tamil Outreach, Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is a country ravaged by a vicious ethnic conflict between Sinhala and Tamil speaking communities. Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can restore peace and tranquility between the warring factions of this beautiful island-nation.

The beauty of Sri Lanka
Facts:
- Back to the Bible’s national ministry plays its part in evangelizing this tiny island by utilizing radio as a major tool for outreach. Television and other media are also used.
- Sinhala and Tamil language radio broadcasts include Bible study and devotional programs designed for Christians as well as other programs specifically produced for women, children, plantation workers and non-Christians.
- Most of our programs are aired on commercial stations sandwiched between secular programs. This greatly increases the chances of non-Christians hearing the programs. The Gospel is creatively presented in music, drama, interviews and short messages.

- With marital conflict and break up of the family on the increase, Back to the Bible Sri Lanka has initiated a new program aimed at strengthening the family unit and promoting biblical values to the entire household.
- As civil hostilities escalate, Christian and humanitarian workers in Sri Lanka are in increasing danger. Reports from the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka (NCEASL) tell of the abduction of relief workers and the murders. In August of 2006 alone, a priest disappeared, 17 aid workers were killed and the deputy director of Sri Lanka's peace secretariat was assassinated. James Kanaganayagam, Exec. Dir. of Broadcasting and Ministry Outreach, is a member and officer of the NCEASL.
