Leandro Tarrataca is the director of Verdade Biblica, Back to the Bible's Brazilian ministry. Leandro lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with his wife, Julie, and three children.
Full name and meaning:
Leandro dos Santos Tarrataca, which comes from the Greek and means "Lion's Man"
Family information:
Wife is Julie. We met in a camp where I was one of the speakers. Parents are father (Denelcy) and mother (Hilda); children (Jeniffer, Leonardo, Melina); dog (Dolly), cat (Kitty).
How you came to know the Lord:
When I was 14 years old. I was very depressed and was invited to a Christian service by a friend. That very day I gave my life to Jesus.
Ministry background:
I started in the ministry as a youth evangelist, became youth pastor, associate pastor, senior pastor. I have been working in the ministry for 20 years now.
When did you start with Back to the Bible?
Became Director of Verdade Biblica in the year 2000.
How the Bible has changed your life:
From suicide to a preacher.

Greatest struggle growing up:
My father was addicted to alcohol and finally divorced when I was 12.
About the people of Brazil:
Family used to be very important, but divorce rates are growing extremely fast. They are friendly people and touch a lot as they talk. They are open to God's Word and have too much poverty.
The one place in Brazil you would take a visitor:
To Sao Paulo, the Banespa Tower or Terra Italia. From those places you can see the city is really impressive.
What makes you the most proud of Brazil:
The people and soccer, of course!

Interesting or funny fact about you:
Because my name is not common in Brazil, everyone believes I am Japanese. In America the vast majority of Hispanics approach me in Spanish because I do look Spanish, even though my mother tongue is Portuguese.
Other places you have lived besides Brazil:
America. My theological training was done there.
Hobbies:
Playing guitar, watching soccer
If you had a random day off, what would you do for the day?
Spend it with the family at the beach.
Do you have a nickname?
My mother calls me Le, but she is the only one.

Beans and rice in Brazil, Pizza Hut in America

Liver
